In the field of natural clay layers in well structures and groundwater measurement sites, sealing earths and joints are used as ring seals between the well pipe and the borehole.
The main requirements for all products used for these sealing purposes are impermeability, chemical resistance and hygienic safety with regard to groundwater contamination. To ensure that all these requirements are met, the Stephan Schmidt Gruppe has decided to certify the Tonpellets Type S, Compactonit 10/80 and Compactonite 10/200 with the KIWA certificate.
All this ensures a safe and reliable product for the drilling industry.
Compactonit® 10/80:
These vacuum extruded clay pellets have been developed as a high standard for ring sealing and borehole applications. It meets high standards and requirements for a wide range of applications. Compactonite 10/80 is supplied with a high swelling capacity and a low permeability. This makes it suitable for most but the most extreme drilling applications. Low wear, high settling rate and well delayed swelling onset make it suitable for boreholes up to 100 m depth. In addition, Compactonite 10/80 is guaranteed to be free from lignin sulfonic acid and other organic additives. This makes it a microbiologically safe product and chemically constant. This is also demonstrated by the KIWA certification.
