In the field of natural clay barriers in well structures and groundwater monitoring sites, sealing clays and compounds are used as ring seals between the well pipe and the borehole.
The main requirements for all products used for these sealing purposes are impermeability, chemical resistance and hygienic safety with regard to groundwater contamination. To ensure that all these requirements are met, the Stephan Schmidt Gruppe has decided to certify the Tonpellets Type S, Compactonite 10/80 and Compactonite 10/200 with the KIWA certificate.
Compactonite 10/200
These vacuum extruded clay granules have been developed to meet the highest demands and requirements for well structures and groundwater measurement sites. Developed to be used for ring seals in flush and dry bores with maximum bonding up to 150 meters and are supplied with the following properties: Very high swelling capacity and maximum structural stability to minimize permeability. Furthermore, this provides a well-delayed swelling of approximately 45 minutes and a high settling rate to reach deep depths. Compactonite 10/200 also gives very good results in saltwater applications. It is free of lignin sulfonic acid and other organic additives to ensure safe and environmentally sound use for all wellbore applications. This is further supported by the KIWA certificate.
