A polyphosphonate-based additive to improve the flame retardancy of thermosetting materials such as polyesters, polyurethanes and thermoplastics.
Phosphorus-based flame retardants produce several complex reactions in fire, but primarily work through solid-phase pyrolysis (decomposition) of polymers to form a carbon-rich, dense char on the surface of the polymer. This means oxygen has less access to the fuel and slows down the fire. Because this product is a polymer, it does not leak out, making it and remaining more effective. It "bonds" with the polymers.
This product is considered non-hazardous material when handled in accordance with standard industrial hygiene practices. The product should be dried before use.
