AW/EP/FM additives are added to lubricants to improve the tribological properties, i. H. preventing the welding of two metal surfaces rubbing against each other. At extremely high pressure, two metals can become welded between two surfaces rubbing against each other. Then EP/AW additives are used. Under high pressure, high temperatures develop in the lubricant. Depending on the carrier, sulfur, phosphoric acid or chlorinated hydrocarbons are released from the additive. Under these conditions, the released substance reacts immediately with the metal surface. The compounds form layers on the metal surface, which are sheared off under the high pressure, preventing the metal surfaces from welding.
Our additives are anti-seize additives with high pressure resistance. These maintain the lubricating film even at high pressure.
